Religion changed, just like the world changed.
People tend to "believe" in God when they get older and need something to believe in these days. When friends and family die, when unjustice is done. So religion, church and all is a good thing because it helps people to get over something because there is hope. You can't prove anything about it. Humans don't understand/know a lot of things, science is only putting the world into things that we can understand.
I don't know for sure but I think it's different in the US. It's kind of weird how they "believe" and think it's all good when you go to church on sundays (at least that's what all your TV shows tell us lol).
