| superchunk said: Sorry but he's mostly wrong. WiiU will be noticeably better in many areas to the PS360. Sure you'll have slightly faster CPU/GPU... that's a given and in the GPU's case thats better for many more reasons that just more polygons... it adds completely new technologies. A big change will be in the raw internal memory available for game development. PS360 are severely limited on RAM and they were not built like the N64 with the capability to upgrade RAM easily. Additionally, the fact is their competitor... Nintendo who's even bigger than EA in game publishing.. will be putting out a new system. Which to the masses, i.e. not the core group on this forum, will be new and exciting and automatically expected to be better than PS360. This will mean MSony will have old machines that will start to really look worse when games simply look better on WiiU due to the newer GPU technology and larger RAM. What this will mean is an incremental update for the neXtbox and PS4. Bringing the next gen from the massive gap of Wii to PS360 to be more like PS2(WiiU) to Xbox/GC(neXtbox/PS4). MSony would be stupid to let it go more than a year on the market alone. |
I'm pretty sure the Wii U will be roughly on par with a PS3 or Xbox 360. I mean didin't we already see the leaked specs?
The difference between Wii U and PS3 won't be noticable enough to warrant new consoles from Sony and Microsoft.
Nintendo is playing catch up. Those with a Wii should definitely upgrade as it will be their first HD console. But I don't see anyone with a PS3 or 360 buying a Wii U unless they're doing it for the Mario/Zelda/Metroid games..etc
