Indeed it can be argued!
By a quirk of formal logic, anything that doesn't exist can be said to possess any quality imaginable. So God is female. And male. And a hermaphrodite. And neuter. Because there are no gods that are not female, and no gods that are not male. And no gods that are not hermaphrodites and no gods that are not neuter.
