PS3 fans #1 selling GENRE are First Person Shooters.. they collectively outsell any other genre on PS3 ( just as they do on Xbox 360 )... the #1 game on PS3 is COD Black Ops....It sold 10.5 million copies - which means over 20% of the PS3's 50 million console USERBASE owns black ops! .. PS3 #2 game is.. COD MW2.. it sold 9.25 million which means nearly 20% of PS3 fans own COD MW2.... #3 best selling game is Grand Theft Auto 4... it sold 8.23 MILLION...

...Yet even with these figures clearly showing the facts some PS3 fans are going to try and 'sell' us the ridiculous notion that PS3 fans dont like First Person Shooters ( or they like them more on the Xbox 360 - when the 360 just sells more games in general ) - The most ignored fact: "The TOP THREE BEST SELLING GAMES 'OF ALL TIME' ON PS3 ARE First Person Shooters" when all these talks come up about the 360 being dominated by shooters..

PS3 #5 best selling game COD MW1..

OTHER BEST SELLING First ( and THIRD ) person shooters on the PS3 charts: Uncharted 2 ( Uncharted 3 coming out in 2 months ), Killzone 3, Battlefield Bad Company, Borderlands, Bioshock, Resistance Fall of Man 1 & 2, Dead Space 2.. Mass Effect 2.. ( and Im sure the's a few I've left out ).. Yes 'some' of the games above (ie, Mass Effect) are labeled something else like RPG, but TECHNICALLY they are 3rd Person shooters as well, which is only different then a FPS by the fact you can see your character.. otherwise the campaign story in Mass Effect is mostly shooting.. same as Gears.. Mass Effect can get away with being called a RPG - even though the game is 90% 3rd person shooting on foot or in a vehicle - it has more in game options then a 'Gears of War' that let you role play.. Many FPS and 3rd Person Shooters have side quest.. In Halo it involves mostly finding hidden objects - thus having to explore territory in the ampaign in which typically you would not look .. Actually I feel many FPS's could be labeled role playing games .. Role playing is defined as 'assuming or playing the role of a character in game' .. Most FPS Campaigns involvealot of role playing - some to more or lesser of a degree.. Uncharted 2 is being marketed as a "Action Adventure/ 3rd Person Shooter"  - this is no different to me then Red Dead Redemption - which we all know its a 3rd person shooter, but its also a role playing, adventure game..

Any way you look at it- ...PERCENTAGE-WISE of games bought to userbase of consoles owned...Or simply going by the massive game sales of FPS's on PS3's games sales chart... Shooters are among the top most played and bought GENRE's on PS3...

PS3's best selling games are in fact not any different then the Xbox 360 but some fans actually beleive this is not the case... The only thing 'a-miss" is PS3's best selling FPS games are all multi-platform titles.. this should make a clear statement to executives at Sony that they have either: a) not recognized their console is being 'dominated' by people who love FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS (COD also the #1 game played on PSN) or b) Sony exclusive FPS's ( like Resistance Fall of Man) just dont 'yet' have quite the right formula for online play.. ( ie, I read a fan of resistance had said the online play was not as fun as a COD) - and trust me , while the campaigns are fun - its the online play that sells these games mostly for replay value ! Kids like competing against other kids online..

I beleive most of the "360 sells mostly FPS" talk stems from the fact these same FPS games on xbox 360 outsell the same FPS games on PS3... yet the same PS3 fans who say this 'somehow overlook' the fact thatPS3 is a console whose games sales are dominated by  First Person Shooters.. and just because Sony doesnt have it own winning FPS exclusive that sell like a COD or HALO you hear the focus go to diversity theories..
