Playstation 3+:in the 7th gen Sony is known for the baggage that came with releasing the PS3 at the retail pice of $599 while costing around $840 to manufacture. but in 2009 Sony released the slim line PS3 which reduced cost allowing Sony to make profit on every console sold as i see it. retail price of PS3 in 2009 was $299, while the cost to manufacture the slim line was $240 for every console sold meaning either Sony broke even or the made $10 to $30 on every console sold. i bet everyone will find this interesting.
SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) – : this system did not start the war but it saved the industry showing all other would be console manufactures how to do it. although yrs later it would seem Nintendo lost there and would shelve most of the IP that kept them in the party the big N's software line up is rival'd by few and envied by everyone as Nintendo has released and sold more software then any console maker and independent publisher in the industry.
Atari 2600 would ony manage to sell 30m ww which i guess was acceptable in the 2nd gen before he fall of the industry.
Magnavox Odyssey: i guess Magnovox has no interest in the market they made. the royalties must be killer. this first gen console sits at Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. on display for all to see its first gen glory. the console that made the market has no sells data available for me to post but it did struggle to sell do to the PS3/ better know as little to know marketing.
theres also more then 9 different versions of this thing but if i continue, the post will be to long. it goes without saying Magnovox brought the big 3 seen today to the market and everyone that came after Magnovox. but Nintendo would rebuild the market the Odyssey crashed. well theres always the royalties!
