This gets me so F**kin mad it not funny. Here’s what I don’t get, why is it that all these so called video game analyst even the developers themselves fail to understand that not every game sells extremely well. Look at the list of games they always put in the category of not selling well on the Wii.
Zack @ Wiki:QFBT, I would agree with them if Capcom themselves were even expecting it to sells well themselves. If you want a game to sell well you have to advertise it and as far as I can tel they lacked severely in that field for this one. P.S. these one hasn’t even been released everywhere yet so they should be patience and wait until it does to pass judgments on the sells first.
Resident Evil 4. Yeah sure they can argue that it’s a port of a very successful IP of last gen which may have boosted the sells. However how does this explain the lower sells of Ninja Gaiden Stigma for the PS3? Both are ports yes? both are good ports correct? But that’s beside the point the main point is how much were they expecting from a two year old port? Because it seems that they are not satisfied with it I guess they wanted more then 1.34 million.
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. This one is very cherry picking (as fishy Joe says). The first Metroid Prime sold 2.77million copies while MP2 sold 1.28million while MP3 sold 1.08million in just 5 months compared to the lifetime sells of MP2. Now Metroid has never sold as well as a game like Halo, but now correct me if I’m wrong but have all but I Metroid game (DS Metroid Pinball) sold over a million? Once again I’m at a lost to why the wii version is any different from the others especially MP2 (since it was released on a system with 2 million more users then the Wii).
No More Heroes. Haven’t Suda games never reached past the half a million point? Hasn’t this game already outsold Killer 7 in Japan already? How is this a argument against the Wii? If anything NMH has a chance to be the first game Sude created to finally make it pass half a million mark. Also I don’t have to mention that it’s yet to be released outside of Japan yet. I know now that SSBB is delayed that this will definitely get a purchase from me.
Now that I got that rant out of the way on to the third party developers: Grow some damn balls and STOP COMPLAINING about low sells. If they go into a game that way why is it that they’re willing to invest millions of dollars in the PS3/Xbox 360 games when some of the game end up being failures sells wises? Just look at games like Strangle Hold and how much midway lost on that game (and how much they attempted to gain some of it back with C n’ W). If some developers stop using the Wii as a backup console then they will see the sells that they desire. End/rant
