I'm not sure if you're just referring to speeds in the US, but I'm in Japan on a 100mb/s fiber optic connection. Actually, I was just checking out my provider's page and it seems that now they also offer 300mb/s packages as well as 1000mb/s (aka 1gb/s) packages, crazy! The 1gb/s would be nice, but I'd rather not double my internet bill!

Heh, yeah I know the speeds can be pretty slow. I don't remember what provider my parent's were using at their house (in California), but I think it was a pretty slow DSL connection. It's okay for basic stuff, but for downloading stuff, yikes!
