Aside from tech demo's and Capcom's attempt at doing plenty of showcasing, there is nothing so impressive on the 3DS. I would argue GoW GOS is very close to that quality. Seen already Mercenaries 3D and those are good graphics definitely, yet nothing but a glorified minigame. If we are going on tech demo's then PS3's KZ2 should have been the second coming based on it, but as you could see that was not the case. So far what has been shown is less than impressive on the 3DS, needless to say it is not about the graphics but gameplay, and so far the lineup is fairly lacking. Ninty should have followed tradition and released a Mario game at launch or damn near launch but that's a discussion for another day as I am derailing this thread. Depending on the circumstances it may or may not work to test out LKS as a timed exclusive on the more powerful console from a different company to see if the audience exists there. If it doesn't, nothing is there to stop them from porting it over to the 3DS along with the smartphone. For this however, timing is key. They cannot do something stupid like SE did with SO TLH, where they left their original audience on the Sony consoles to keep the game exclusive on the 360 and wait over a year to port it over to the PS3. |
I don't mean to make a mountian out of mole hill, but if you think that GoW: GoS is on pair with RE:R, then you're basically saying that the PSP is even more powerful than the PS2 (when it's quite obvious that PSP isn't quite up to PS2 standards). GoW: GoS is definitely an impressive game, but I don't think it quite matches up to GoW 2 on the PS2. And in comparison to RE:R, it's not a tech demo. Those are real graphics in real time on a game that's going to be coming out early next year. The polygon count of the character models in GoW: GoS are much lower than the character models in RE:R, the textures aren't as high-res, and the lighting isn't in the same league. Heck, with the 3D turned off in just Mercenaries, anti-aliasing is enabled. I don't like to call my opinions as fact, but the RE:R is graphically far ahead of GoW: GoS.
But in the end, it is the gameplay that matters most.
I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!
