my grip about this study is it seems to confuse the term atheist with non-religious.  just because you haven't aligned yourself with one of the other relgions of the world does not make you an atheist.

an atheist believes that there is no god.

a non-religious (in the way they are using it here) means you aren't associated with any church/whatever.

as far as i'm concerned, atheisism is a religion.  if you haven't given serious thought to your choice to not believe in god you are more agnostic then athiest imo.

To say atheism is a religion is to say that baldness is a hair color.  If an atheist were to be religious in some extent, they would end up believing in something else, whether it be themselves, humanism, secularism, or scientism.  There is nothing to atheism, because atheism is a lack of belief in there being a God or gods.

Atheism produces nothing, does nothing, and adds nothing.  It doesn't produce morality, or guides in any way.  It will eliminate some belief systems, but doesn't add anything, because it is nothing.  It is a lack of belief, as stated above.  If someone is atheist, then they would need to go somewhere to get morals and so on.
