What we can observe from this is that shooters and fpses are extremely popular in comparison on the 360. Everything else sells almost the same except for action games and platformers.
If you add the fps and shooter category :
360 = 155.02 million
Ps3 = 88.2 million
Ratio = 1.757
As you can see, the Ps3 sells almost the same as the 360 in almost every genre except for shooters and RPGs.
Due to one year lead and heavier install base in America 360 should by default sell more in there. But that's not the case.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that PS3 highest selling genre is actually action, unlike the 360 which is fps.
So the whole call of duty is the highest selling game blah blah blah doesn't work for the PS3.
