The ideea is that atheists are underrepresented in jails compared to christians. |
Again this study doesn't show everyone who converted to Christianity from Athiesm. Now I'm not saying Athiests would not still be underrepresented. But their are so many reasons for this. Keep in mind most Athiests often have a greater education more money then the average Christian.
So many factor's, I think these stats show clearly that athiests and Christian's , Jews and all faiths are equally involved in crime. When you take population and capita into the equation.
I wouldn't try and claim that athiests or people of any belief are more prone to crime then another group. Go to Saudi Arabia and you'll find the majority are muslim. Thailand and you'll find the majority are buddhist. If their was a country where athiesm was the majority then I'm sure in that country the majority of crimes would be committed by athiests!
Were humans and all humans are weak and all slip up make mistakes. Some do so intentionally others do so accidently others simply make one or two bad decisions. But religious belief or lack there of is not a big factor. Unless your belief promotes breaking the law but I don't know of any main religions or athiest or agnostic beliefs that do.
