I know that a king in England wanted to marry another chick and when the church said no he said FU pope, I'm creating my own branch and I'm gonna marry as many chicks as I please. But my question is who falls under this category these days. |
That was distinct from the actual Reformation, which originated in Germany and spread mostly through Northern Europe (though true protestants are in Britain as well, namely the Presbyterians of Scotland). The Church of England is basically Catholic in all things but acknowledging the central hierarchy from Rome, whereas the Protestants of various stripes (mostly stemming from the teachings of Martin Luther or John Calvin, however), have more substantive differences in their beliefs.
Protestants are dominant in USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa (the Afrikaaners were originally a separatist protestant sect), Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Iceland, Estonia, Norway, Sweden, and Finland
