Seen this on History Channel a few times. It basically cause your body to feel like the water in you is bubbling / weird pain feeling. So basically it makes whoever it is being pointed at to want run away from it. Soldiers would line up on the history channel episode (a mock riot) and pretty much after a few seconds of being exposed to it they would scatter.
I wonder if you could just put on a bunch of tin foil (or something like it) and protect yourself from it?
