The government should help this guy get citizenship. When someone does a heroic act like this they should definatly be rewarded. Now I don't buy the whole Immigrants raise crime rates and hold back the US. Well unless they are gangsters coming up from Mexico. The majority of immigrants are simply trying to lead a better life.
Here in Canada we have tons of illegal immigrants. Infact Mexican's are growing on our list as they now skip over the US and b-line straight for Canada.
I believe every illegal immigrant should be arrested. Then given a trial and offered help in becoming a legal citizen. If they do not match the criteria and are not from a country where they will face persecution then they should be deported to their home country.
I'm against illegal immigrants but think immigrants are very important to our modern society and we should try to take in as many from bad situations as possible.
