From a pure rational point of view, this is of course ridiculous.
But this is democracy, so the other side is always looking for potential "scandals".
And there's an emotional component as well: If it's true that this campaign tour is mainly about "creating jobs", then a canadian bus is indeed bit of a bad choice. As it can be interpreted as "even the US president doesn't believe in american products".
