Where did you guys first heard it? I got it from the Stand By Me OST, love that cassette. My family had that playing in the background while driving around during our summer vacations.

It's part of the American pop culture everywhere, according to the trailer also in Japan. I first heard it decades ago, but I don't know exactly when as counting was never my strength (thanks to gumby_trucker for reminding me).
