Pretty simple actually. Its a couple of different reasons.

1. This is the NA charts and the 360 dominates that region. I'm sure EMEAA is far more balanced
2. The sheer quantity of game this year is insane. I mean just this year so far we've had in terms of big games on the PS3 LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 3, Infamous 2, Mortal Kombat, Crysis 2, Portal 2, Dead Space 2, L.A.Noire, Homefront, Dragon Age 2, Brink, Marvel vs. Capcom, and tons of other quality smaller games and over the next couple months we've got Skyrim, Resistance, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Assassins Creed, MW3, Battlefield 3, Batman Arkam City, Rage, Deus Ex and a tons of other. The fact is the AVERAGE gamer only purchases a few games a year and with this sheer amount of quantity and quality over 12 months gamers really are haveing to pick and choose which games they want and pass on some games they would normally get. Stuff like Resistance which doesn't have a huge following is being drowned out by all the other larger franchises. Same thing was going to happen with Twisted Metal which is why its delayed till next year.
