I just don't understand how any of you can say Forza4 looks better then GT5 with a straight face. The car details alone put GT5 in a place that Forza can never reach. Stop looking at their fake photoshop images and look at the ingame videos of it and the details are lacking and poor to say the least. The textures are worse, the detail is worse, the lighting is not even in the same league, add in more cars, weather and night time driving and GT5 is next gen by comparison in graphics.

Forza cars also look like a game, they don't have the realsitic look that the premium models in GT5 have. Same shit that happened with all the games in this series oh best looking ever then side by sides of some forza 2 cars and they look better the Forza3.

I had no intentions of bringing GT5 to this thread but you guys decided to start with the insults towards that series and claiming Forza4 best ever....

When you watch in game videos online, you are watching them in 480p. Of course GT5 car models look better when you do an unfair comparision that was, the game plays in 720p.

The only fair comparision is doing a 1080p comparision of still images (just make sure the Forza 4 image is 1080p) to GT5 car models in photo mode or in garage.

When you do that, Forza 4 looks better, noticably better, and this level of graphics is present on all car models, not just 200 (which is less cars then 500).

Textures are worse, GT5 doesn't even do anti aliasing, so that makes no sense, your whole comment makes no sense!

Here, Forza 4, GT5 (both 720P HD resolution), Real life

I'm sorry, but those fog lights in GT5 look like they are stickers. There is no depth, and exterior lighting in both games falls far short compared to real life, but at least Forza 4 looks like a car. GT5 looks like a drawing, like below. I mean just look at the lighting on the rear window, it's so pixelated. This is what anti aliasing fixes, something GT5 only has a minimal amount of . To be direct GT5 has 4x multi-sampling anti-aliasing when playing in 720p, and when you upscale to 1080p (not native), you only have 2x quincunx anti-aliasing. Forza Motorsport 3 does this, imaging how much better Forza 4 will be. Actually Forza 3 only does 2x multi-sampling anti-aliasing, but it does so without a dip in FPS, while keeping vertical synchronization (This means no screen tearing, or dips in FPS, while maintaining 2x anit-aliasing). This affectively gives Forza 3 the same texture detail as GT5, if Forza 4 is better, then obviously it's better then both GT5 and Forza 3.

Also, you say Forza looks cartoon like? The bottom picture is a drawing, it looks a lot more like the Subaru in GT5 then Forza. Forza looks noticably more realistic. Surfaces are rendered better, they don't look like stickers (fog light).

Don't bring this BS here.

Suppress your inner fanboy.

I agree with you when you say Forza 4 will look better overall, but you can't deny Gran Turismo 5 looks better in certain aspects and that it will at least be CLOSE to Forza 4.

Your comparisons are unfair, those screenshots that Turn 10 released might not be representitive of the final product. If you have the right lighting, textures and the perfect camera angle, you can make any car look identical to real life in PHOTO mode. The real comparison is between in-game performance (which can't be compared yet) and replay performance. While replays are not as important as in-game graphics, I still think GT5's replays looked better than the replay footage released for Forza 4 so far.

I'm not quite sure why you said Gran Turismo 5 doesn't anti-alias. Replays are native 1080p whilst in-game graphics are 1280x1080 with 2xQAA, in 720p mode it's 720 with 4xMSAA. I can guaruntee you that in Gran Turismo 5, edges are smooth as butter, smoother than Forza 3 is and Forza 4 will be.

As for in-game footage, we will just have to wait and see!

Dude posting a CGI footage of GT5  against and actual ingame replay of Forza 4 is not great.

And actual ingame replay of GT5 shows a lack of colour ( more inlne with camera footage than real life colours ) and a serious lack of detail in scenery and 2d in alot of places.

Both following videos are off screen for fairness.
