" If a person can afford WoW, they could afford a $99 Wii, when it launches there officially"
(Living in China)
I would have been able to purchase a copy of Windows Vista, 2 days after it's release for about 50 cents within a block from my house. As for where i could get a legitimate copy of anything, game or movie, i couldn't really tell you, never seen one.
80-90% of all games software and DVDs in China are pirated so a copy of WoW will set you back less than 1 US dollar, not $99. Most people here would laugh hysterically at you at the thought of paying so much for a game. Anyway, a large number of people play the game (WoW) in Internet Bars because they don't have computers in their homes.
China is still very poor, trust me on this and hence i can't see it having a large impact on console sales for this generation.
No grand predictions, i'm just looking forward to playing some good games on my Wii.
