From my perspective, while incompetent teachers is an issue, it's only a small one. Irresponsible school boards that spend most of their discretionary funding on constant remodeling of the football field while many classrooms have maps with the Soviet Union on them is a far bigger issue, as is the fact that many kids just don't give a damn about their own education. You can't teach those who refuse to learn


I don't disagree ...

All I'm saying is that the education system as it is set up today is failing to meet the needs of a large portion of the population. When you start digging into the statistics and seeing how many adults don't have reading or math skills at a level we associate with students in grade 6 it demonstrates how broken the system is.
