Motorola owns over 20,000 patents.

That number is a little decieving as very few of their pattents are related to the operating system. Motorolla never had a smartphone OS of their own...

Still i'm sure Apple and MS wont be able to sue them for some things.

Oh I know,  in fact not all of them even relate to the cell phone business either.  But the majority of them are, and it does give Google some ammo  of its own against the onslaught of lawsuits it is getting.  Although some of them are deserved if the patents are legit
