I'm not an atheist, but my current belief would probably follow pantheism.
I think that atheism means more to people who believe in an Abrahamic religion than those who do not. I don't know why it gets such a negative connotation from those people. It's a pretty simple term really, that atheists just follow traditional human morals. The interpretation of religious texts change based on societal moral beliefs anyway.
