okay, in response to several threads above me...

...someone posted these facts before but as i can't find the post i'm just going to repose the facts.

from the KH2 website...

Characters from FINAL FANTASY video game series: © 1990, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2005 Square Enix Co., Ltd. All Rights Reserved. and even more telling, KH: mobile - SE had no involvement whatsoever and they could do that simply by not including and FF characters. development was by Disney Mobile Studios and Superscape http://www.gamespot.com/mobile/rpg/kingdomhearts/index.html

edit:  almost forgot, can't find the link but in the post i referred to above had a link showing that Sora was in fact considered a disney character.

I'm not saying SE doesn't have any say (cause they could say my way or the highway too) but I feel like disney has the upper hand in any negotiations.

I actually doubt Disney would argue due to Square being the better developer. Could you even imagine how bad KH3 would be if Disney's studios made it? omg the quality would drop faster then a lead balloon

So lets say, for the sake of arguement, that Disney and Squareenix do split because of Disney's insitence that a huge series like Kingdom Hearts 2 get made on the Wii. Who could Disney turn to for help developing the game. I suppose they would have to be a strong supporter of the Wii with at least one genre defining series of action/adventure games and have enough recognizable charaters to replace the list of characters Square has. What Nintendo friendly developer has a ton of characters they like to throw in a ton of games as cameos and is known to make the best games of the generation...

Oh right, Nintendo could make it then. Square-enix wil put the game on the Wii if that is what Disney wants. Sqaure-enix is replaceable.

LOL you can not replace the Co- publisher

 V CAST
Menu for the Kingdom Hearts V Cast game

A Kingdom Hearts game was developed exclusively for V CAST, Verizon Wireless's broadband service, and was released on October 1, 2004 in Japan and on February 4, 2005 in the United States.[34] It was one of the launch games for the V CAST services.[35] The game, developed by Superscape and published by Disney Mobile with no involvement from Square Enix, features the original Kingdom Hearts's gameplay, modified for the input method of mobile phones.[36]

The first section begins with the protagonist of the original Kingdom Hearts, Sora, shipwrecked on a seemingly uninhabited island, his friends Goofy and Donald missing. Sora must find a way to escape the island, as well as reuniting with Donald and Goofy. Reception of the first playable mission pack was mixed. The game was criticized for its awkward controls and limited availability. The visual appeal was praised; GameSpot stated that Sora "is very detailed and well animated" and complimented the 3D environments.[37]

Reality disagrees with everything you have said in this thread.
