By horrendous, are you sure she wasn't simply hung over?

Or maybe I wasn't drunk enough.  She was a blonde when I was with her.  Her hair was a mix of black and blonde.  She had all kinds of acne on her face, and she was dressed almost like a hobo.  Oh, and she was pregnant.  I saw her from the back and I went to the magazin section.  She stood over me while I flicked through magazines and I looked up at her and quickly looked away.  I almost instantly got up and finished my shopping.  My little sister (who's a cashier at the grocery told me when I was checking out, "Oh, that was Amy.  She came to my register to tell me that she was married and she was about to have her second child.  You didn't recognize her?"

Even in her current state, I would have been so happy to have talked to her for a minute, gave her a hug, or just told her how much I thought of her over the last couple of years (I probably posted about her in this exact thread, ten times!).  There she was, right beside me, and I didn't even recognize her.  I probably really hurt her feelings, too.  Anyway, she's married.  She has a kid and another kid on the way.  Whatever used to be or whatever could have been is no more.
