From the article:

No, that is not how Kinect works.
Also the demonstration in the video is completely bogus. You cannot wave Kinect a few inches from your object and get any meaningful data at all. (Of course you would also need the position and angle of the projector to correlate all the images into a single 3D picture but that's just a minor point).
Nice to see all those ideas people come up to use Kinect for, but when will we actually see a real, good game made for Kinect - you know, the actual purpose that freakin' thing was made for? Apparently everybody is busy trying to find application for that thing that have nothing to do with gaming...
