As for Ico/SotC Collection, again, more speculation. 3.All I can say; look at the God of War Collection. Even more, it didn't even get the labor of extra polish the Ico/SotC Collection is getting, yet it sits pretty @ 91 on Metacritic. Just some things to consider. |
1. Besides Guerilla I can't think of one Sony 1st party dev that passed the 90+ on their first attempt on the PS3.
2. Reach was average and didn't deserve to be in the 80s, let alone the 90s. And it was docked a good amount of points from the last major Halo.
3. This is an interesting one, that i will make subpoints for.
A. Ico, and SotC came out long before GoW 1 and 2. This gen was already well under way when GoW 2 was finally released. So the voting metric hadn't changed as muched.
B. GoW series had an average metacritic of 93.5, and then the rerelease had a Metacritic average of 91. That's a 2.5 point drop. If we were to do the same to the Ico collection that would put the score under 90. And that was with GoW being a much newer series.
C. rereleases are no longer new. Not sure if that will effect the score, but just saying/
