@mantlepiecek:

And all affirmative action does is consider minorities as weak and requiring of aid.

Minorities are 'weak and requiring aid'. Being a minority automatically creates special needs.

What can actually happen if they weren't given any aid in education and jobs? They would have to work for it that's all. Something that normal people do.

Spoken like a privileged white male. Take a Sociology class. And a History class while you're at it.

And?

You're appearently having trouble reading, and at this point there may simply be no use in trying to continue my explanation.

So because heterosexuality was celebrated it shouldn't be celebrated anymore?

Heterosexuality still is celebrated and privileged.

And are you saying that gays celebrate their sexuality only to insult/demean those who are not gays?

No. I already said why they celebrate gay pride. Go back to my previous posts, if you've somehow missed it.

There really is no relation between celebration and charity.

It was an analogy, in which the objective was to point out how ridiculous the ideea of 'straight pride' is.

Charity is done when someone is in need; celebration is done in moment of happiness. I can be happy about being straight and celebrate it.

Gay pride is actually done to fulfill a need for gay people. The need to feel accepted, and to feel that there are other people like yourself, and being able to actually go on the street and not hide who you are, without the fear that you'll be stonned to death. It's quite important to accept who you are after centuries of persecution, and being taught that you're a 'deviant'.

I would say it would be pretty discriminatory if someone thought I have some ulterior motives just because I am straight.

Huh?
