Helping the homeless is a social issue that is tackled by issuing funds. Its not tackled by taking away homes from the one's that have shelter.

And the relevance to this conversation is?

One thing you have to understand is that not all heterosexuals are oppressors.

As a group, heterosexuals are oppressors.

So making laws/privileges that only benefit one section of the society and not allowing the other is pretty discriminatory. Even if they are the minority.

It's clear you fall in the category of people that doesn't understand the purpose of those laws (I assume you're talking of hate crime laws, no?).

Bolded proves you know nothing about individuality.

"It's clear you fall in the category of people that doesn't understand the purpose of those laws (I assume you're talking of hate crime laws, no?)."

There's no purpose of these laws. Celebrating "Gay pride parade" and "Straight pride parade" is one and the same. I consider them both meaningless. But if one is ok, the other should be ok too. As far as affirmative action is concerned, then its even more discriminatory against innocent people who may have never discriminated against the gays/blacks/etc.

Your comment regarding the bolded part shows you have no ideea how society works.

Celebrating "Gay pride parade" and "Straight pride parade" is one and the same.

No, it's really not 'one and the same'. Homosexuals celebrate gay pride as a counter reaction to the degradation of their sexual identity due to their persecution by heterosexuals. It's a counter reaction to the whole 'being gay is evil', 'being gay is a sin', 'being gay is a mental disease' etc. rhetoric that's been circulating for centuries. Please tell me exactly why heterosexuals would have to celebrate 'straight pride', when heterosexuality has been celebrated and elogiated for millennia. It's even presented as the only 'normal' way to be, and they even went on to persecute anyone who wasn't like them. Celebrating 'straight pride' is as laughable as holding a charity event to raise money for the rich and famous.

As far as affirmative action is concerned, then its even more discriminatory against innocent people who may have never discriminated against the gays/blacks/etc.

I don't think the purpose of affrimative action is to 'get back' at the racists.
