Will a Mario-like IP ever be created in future?

There is already one that sits in the same level, Pokemon. This franchise is newer and sold near Mario, and remember all the licensed products, that Nintendo even created a separated enterprise only for Pokemon in Japan.

I also think about Tetris, its pretty huge game.
