The party in power always grows the size of government. Because of this, I despise both.
That said, some Republicans as of late have been at least talking about reforming Medicare and Social Security. Democrats on the other hand do not dare to bring up the subject. Democrats (and most Republicans) are going to simply stand around and watch as the baby boomers retire and increase our spending on entitlements exponentially. Projections estimate $100 trillion of unfunded liabilities, yet we as a country refuse to accept this and make the necessary cuts. It's depressing, and those of us under 30 years of age are going to be forced to bare the brunt of the burden in the coming future.
