Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Massive AAA games are still important but the lesson here is that you probably shouldn't be investing that much time and money into a brand new IP. Spending that much time and money on an unproven IP is just arrogant.

Spending that much money on any game is arrogant when a game needs to clear more then 3mil to make a profit you put too much money into it
