i actually thought nico bellic was pretty good character.

anyone who liked rdr but did not like gta 4 is crazy imo

Why?

RDR was a way better game IMO.

to me they were literally the exact same games. And I mean literally right down to the gameplay. The one big difference was the setting otherwise the shooting, cover system, guns were the same. I don't understand what made RDR much better. To me GTA 4 was a fresh experience, then RDR came along and recycled the same gameplay, same type of side missions, same hill billy charachters (never enjoyed it as much since i thought i was playing the same game), then L.A Noire came along and i didnt even go 2 hours into it.

What made RDR better was the fact that it felt like a sandbox again. It brought back that feeling of freedom that was lacking in GTA IV. You could hunt, play poker, capture outlaws, attack gang hideouts, gamble, break horses, etc. In GTA IV all you could do was go bowling with Brucie. The freedom has always been the essence of what made the GTA games so fun. I had more fun screwing around in san andreas than I did playing the missions. There is NOTHING to do in GTA IV and thats where it failed.

But I'd also have to disagree about the game mechanics. GTA IV's cover system was broken, RDR improved it. GTA IV did not have an option to free up the camera, RDR did. The camera was probably my biggest pet peeve with GTA IV. It drove me NUTS! Plus riding a horse in RDR was a lot more fun/less frustrating than driving a car in GTA IV.

Last but not least: John Marston>>>>>>Niko Bellic.
