If by "fresh experience" you mean, exactly the same as GTAIII, GTAVC and GTASA. That's just my opinion though, as upon purchasing and playing through a good chunk of GTAIV, I couldn't help but feel like I had been here before, followed by extreme bordem and constant car jackings/running things over/crashing. However, when I played Red Dead Redemption, I got a brand new feeling. I could easily tell that GTA was hidden behind the western style but it never bothered me. I loved every minute of it. But, I grew up on westerns and own way too many of them today. |
You make a good point but for me GTA 4 was much more different than the other GTAs. The other GTAs literally felt like a sandbox where i can just mess around and do whatever i want. GTA 4 on the other hand had an actual serious story and vibe. I even liked the new driving mechanics.
