Eh, my little sister blabs on her cell phone for like 3 hours a night, but I think her friend often initiates the call. They both want to talk though. So...only the friend should pay every time? I think both my sister and her friend should pay...they're both blabbing on the phone.

It makes enough sense to me.

So you should also pay in order to receive a letter? After all, you're interested in reading what the sender wrote. It doesn't make much sense to me - if someone wants to communicate with me, they pay. If I want to communicate with someone, I pay. If we want to split costs, we can just call each other every once in a while.

Making someone pay for something they didn't choose to initiate or necessarily have any interest in doesn't make sense to me, but to each his own.

Well that's true, but if you decide to answer the phone you are initiating and do have interest. You can always not answer. I frequently don't answer mine just because I don't feel like talking on the phone.

Anyways, you're not really paying, it's just coming out of your allotted minutes. I'm on the same plan as my gf and we pay a total of $70 a month for both phones($35per). It never costs more than that and we're never close to running out of minutes. She talks for HOURS at a time. About every 3 or 4 days she'll talk to her mom for about 2 hours. Sometimes, when I call my family on the other side of the country (once a week), I talk for HOURS at a time.  This is on top of the fact that these are our only phones and we use them for all communication.  The amount of use we get out of these for $35 a month makes them extremely reasonable.

It's not really the bad deal you all are thinking it is.
