An actual game system with dual cartridge slots and an external tape loader. It also ran BASIC so you could write your own programs on it.

It was quite popular, just not in the US and UK. Lots of companies made them, I used to have one from Phillips since I lived in the Netherlands back then. Quite a different approach then nowadays, 1 platform with many manufacturers, sort of like a dvd player.
