Sure Harper has a few faults like not doing enough to stop Abortion or end Gay Marriage. He also has pushed for the HST over our provincial taxes. I have a few gripes with some of his policies. However here is a leader who for once is not America's bitch, he's not a coward who leaves our military in shambles. He sticks up for his moral's values and Canada's interests. He is one of the greatest Canadian Prime Ministers to ever hold office.

I've gotta say its funny how blunt Sapphi is. Just because we disagree on certain ideologies doesn't mean we should call each other names or insult each other with things such as "You disgust me".

My two stances listed aren't persecution either.

Abortion - is murder and murder is illegal I don't care how anyone tries to justify it your killing a human being, once the cells have merged and started forming a human life it is murder to kill that human being. Disagree your free to however protecting unborn children is hardly something that should disgust you. Especially since some later abortions kill almost fully developed children. Its a brutal practice that is direct conflict with my countries murder laws and as such shouldn't be legal. An example in the states, in Seattle a guy didn't want his baby but the women refused to abort it so he punched her in the stomach killing the unborn child. He was charged with first degree murder. So why is it okay for a doctor to kill that baby and not the father, some will say its the woman's choice, so how is it not murder for the mother to kill her baby? (Sapphi we have had this convo before so no need to derail this thread with your extremist views)

As for gay marriage, I for one am a supporter of Gay unions. Infact before Harper became Prime Minister as leader of the opposition he proposed that all gay's have the right to gay union's and equal treatment legally with married couples. Short of being called married his proposition was pretty much the same as gay marriage today. However he said since Marriages definition was a bond between a man and a women, and because of the religious sentiment marriage carried that it would violate religious rights laws and be immoral to change the definition of marriage just to appease a minority. I whole heartedly agree with that proposition, so when the Liberal's passed Gay Marriage into law and started forcing pastors and civil servents to marry gay couples against their will, started suggesting the Bible should be considered hate litterature etc...etc... Of course I'm not going to agree with that.

However Prime Minister Harper has stated that both Gay Marriage and Abortion were passed into law democratically and that it would be immoral to appeal the laws. I disagree with him on that stance, I think both laws should be appealed and then the whole nation should vote on them. If the whole country agrees that these laws should remain in place then democratically they should. But just because some Liberal members of parliament think they should be laws doesn't mean they should.

But back to you being disgusted with me, you hate religion and all those who believe in God or don't share your view point. Prime Minister Harper could do wonders infact the Romanian President could do almost anything and you would still hate him because he disagree's with some of your theology!

Example I love President Obama and his work in the US, yet I disagree with alot of his theology and idealogies. But he doesn't disgust me and I don't hate him. You are unable to accept that other leaders and people in your community have different idea's. I'm not trying to be mean I added you to my friends list because I like debating with you. However saying crap like I disgust you is going way to far!
