Microsoft had two great gaming years, their efforts in 2007 and 2008 are commendable and they deserve the success. Hopefully they can get themselves back on track gaming wise, but as far hardware sales go, they've done a great job.

I feel 2010 was good as well, with Splinter Cell, Alan Wake, Reach and Fable. I do wonder if MS have given up that sort of line up, I won't be happy if they have, as I don't really like most MS eclusives, not the ones they concentrate on anyway.

Your right, 2010 was a pretty good year for them. I don't know why they're taking the route they're taking now, Kinect is doing well for them but it's not dominating the market or anything and the same goes for the software sales of titles that aren't Kinect Adventures. My guesses would be that they'd rather cool down for now and come out fighting with their next console, they'd now prefer to spend $5 million on making a casual game instead of $20 to $30 million on a more traditional game (risk vs reward) or maybe they just don't have the workforce or the ideas to go through with a whole new project.

I hope they can at least find a balance at some point, I really like my 360 but a Child of Eden rental and Gears of War 3 aren't helping to strengthen my ties to the console or the company, though I'm sure most people can get over that bump with their ties to Live.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
