You could jump grids and get specific spells from another one far before the end of the game, and you could customize your weapon and armor customizing them that way, FFXIII you just choose which linear grid to follow, and ultimately if you don't pick certain ones for certain characters it's just a waste and FFX had some exploration,FFXIII you are basically running down glorified hallways the whole time and alot of people critisied FFX for the direction it went, and FFXIII is far worse then FFX |
That is if you have specific spheres, which are hard to find. You could get by playing blitzball, but sadly, it's one of the worst mini-games ever created. Turn based sports game is a horrible idea, and the controls are awful if you try to manually move the character.
Didn't know about the customization in FFX, but I got around just fine not customizing my armor or weapons. I know if FFXIII you get certain support statuses with different weapons and armor including creating a physical wall defense. I agree about the exploration; it's one of the things that bothered me in XIII. It could have used more open settings. X's exploration wasn't that good, imo, but at least it had some exploration.
I agree with all the criticism FFX got. It's one of the low points of the series.
