In the other ones you set up your character uniquely, in FFXIII everythings automatic, in the other ones you could get away with pressing X alot but you got worn down and harder enemies you had to use different tatics, the free heals in FF ruins the wearing down, and you are pressing X in FFXIII more then the other ones, so it doesn't have the other elements that made it okay in other games and there's more of it |
It's like FFX, except it has more choices. You can decide whether you want to further develop your skills in medic, commando, etc role. In FFX, all you did was follow a linear path in the sphere grid. It isn't until near the end of the game where you could set up your characters, but it's too late by then. There are harder enemies where you have change up your paradigms. I liked the HP refill; it saves me time from doing it myself.
I also like the no towns. Screw all the townspeople that play no role in the story and will never be seen again. I don't care about your daughter getting married or your husband's job. FFXIII eliminated the filler.
