I would like to give Sterling some credit though. I thought his review of Sonic Colors, while very harsh on its own, did a very good job explaining why the game isn't the second coming of Sonic, and was important in offsetting the mostly unanimous praise the game received. Having played it for a while, it really isn't that amazing! I think giving it a 4.5 was obviously an exaggeration, but many of his points against it needed to be made in order for Sonic to have any chance of improving in the future.

Another review I think he did well was a retrospective on Metal Arms - a game from last gen. Convinced me to hunt down and buy the game and I am thankful for it!

Let me finish by saying that if you read some of his reviews without considering the final numeric score, they do make coherent, valid arguments about stuff that is genuinely problematic about the game. That was definitely the case for Sonic Colors, and seems like the case for From Dust as well, based on his review.

He can still be a blunt trolling arrogant dick sometimes, and many of his arguments are extremely shallow and narrow minded, but he does offer legitimate criticism that occasionally hits the nail on the head, or close to it.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!
