IF the WiiU supports directX 11 effects, specifically tessellation and displacement mapping, games will actually be cheaper to make currently and at the same time look alot better.

I suspect they used heavy tessellation on the Zelda HD demo they showed off. Probably had low polygonal base models and tessellate the hell out of it. Probably why they said it took them little time to do.
Think I saw some apex clothing in that very demo as well.
