the 500 dollar ps3 model wasnt sold because noone wanted it in the west. because people recognized that the 100 dollar/euro just wasnt worth it. if i spend that amount of cash i dont care at all if its 100 more for wifi and usb connectors and a harddrive thats not full after 3-4 games . with the 500 dollar model you had to buy a new hd pretty fast and no wifi killed it for 90% of the people.

to the always occouring statement we wont see a graphics jump like we used to: we will see a massive jump. what i saw on pc lately makes ps3 look like ps2. also amd hints that we will get beasts again.to the rising costs with new technology come also cost advantages and as soon as engines and assets are on a certain level we will see costs go down again . with new graphical features and eventually 3 times ibm+amd hardware and developer friendly hardware costs wont explode again. also industry changes i think in the future we will have 3 engines 2 or three similar consoles which are designed in the most developer friendly way. and (chinese/indian) companys that just make assets and nothing else which sell them cheap to game devs

btw: cant see an advantage for wii u atm.
