EA really hit gold when they first started the Dead Space franchise. And the franchise is clearly still going strong with a third Dead Space title on the way. Whether or not the third installment is indeed Dead Space 3 or a branch-off title from the series is still unclear. But the evidence supporting a future part is strong indeed.

EA and Visceral Games reportedly posted multiple jobs on Gamasutra, to work on the “Dead Space Franchise”. Since job openings are just becoming present, don’t expect the future Dead Space title to hit stores during this year’s Holidays. A more realistic time may be Q3 2012.

Hopefully this future part delivers a good perk on Hard-Core mode as did Dead Space 2.

If you want to be like that, then technically the third Dead Space was Dead Space 2 (Dead Space Extraction being the second) so what you talking about would be the fourth.

Agree with Machina, Im about halfway through DS2 and have no motivation to continue. Game was interesting at first but I dont understand the plot and the motivations of the opposing factions (not the necromorphs). They seems to have the same goal and purpose but fight each other and be scare of the thing theyre trying to achieve.

Ohhh then you have NO clue what's truly going on behind the scenes which is good. If you pick up the game again I suggest you continue as you watch Isaac's mind deteriorate further, and start seeing what is truly going on . The ending was excellent and the final boss fight was really total insanity. Not to mention the multiplayer is top notch. Btw, did you get to the nursery school yet? That kinda freaked me out a bit.
