A long time ago, I posted a thread about how Nintendo milks their older games and re-releases them over and over again. Well, Capcom is giving them a run for their money. I love some of their franchises (especially Street Fighter and Demon's Crest/Gargoyle's Quest) but god damn. Off the top of my head:
- Capcom releases Dead Rising 2. Immediately announces Dead Rising 2 re-make starring Frank West.
- Releases Marvel vs Capcom 3. Immediately announces upcoming Marvel vs Capcom 3 "Good edition".
- Releases Street Fighter 4 (with overpriced "DLC"). Then released Super Street Fighter 4 (with more overpriced DLC). Followed up with a 3DS version (that has all of the previous DLC released on the card for free!). Then follow that up with SSF4 Arcade Edition.
- Released RE bonus mini game, The Mercenaries as a full fledged 3DS title.
- And don't get me started on the re-release after re-release after re-vamp after remake of Resident Evil 1.
Capcom has been one of my favorite gaming companies since the Nes days. Are they purposely trying to kill their fanbase? I loved Dead Rising. I could give a fuck about the new Frank West version, now. I love Street Fighter. No way I spend a dollar on that Arcade Edition. I'm starting to wonder if Ryu is in more games than Mario!
This poorly worded rant is the result of frustration after reading the front page story about the upgrade of MvC3. Capcom, you're killing me! I came here to make a thread about why gamers should keep their PSP's in the wake of the 3DS and the upcoming PSV. I'm not even in the mood anymore.
