the "Niger" insult has lost all credablity as a insult when the people it was used to insult start using it themselves to refer to them selves. Same with the australian term "wog" which was by people of "British" Background used to offend the Italians and Greek migrates. It ended up being used by them to desribe themselves to the point there was a movie made calling them selves the suppose insult.
You have to remember that the word "Niger" is Latin for Black, and "Negro" is black in Spanish. They weren't started off as insults they were just used by people who language had those words as the colour which remains today.
Also i would like to point out that the Insult "Niger" isn't even just soley used to insult black people any more same like "fag" is used to insult gay people.
I would like to end on if the people who uses it as a term to refer to themselves then others can use it themselves. Becuase that like we australians calling us Australians but no other person can but must refer to us as "Awesome" instead, because Australian term offends us and we prefer being called Awesome instead.
