I'd argue that cutting back on spending and regulations would help reverse the trend of jobs and money leaving America. But since you always seem to enjoy taking arguments to their most absurd extreme, I'll indulge you: clearly, we should confiscate everyone's passport and seal all borders to keep all people and their delicious, delicious monies in our glorious American economy. Only traitors would want to leave, anyway, so this shouldn't pose a problem. Alternatively, we could lrn 2 compete, n00b. But that would just be silly. |
Not really. Money that is bound to leave the country is bound to do so by economic forces larger than we can control (aside from bookkeeping sleight-of-hand or offshore accounting), but the loss of jobs, especially labor-intensive manufacturing jobs, is bound to happen one way or another
What we need to do is learn to adapt to our economic niche, which is a capital-intensive industrial/professional services superpower, which would be far better competition than learning to become a tax haven or whatever else the IMF is forcing deadbeat countries to do

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
