Can the PS3 transmitted  HD video wirelessly?

Given that remote play works over the internet, i imagine it would certainly be capable of achieving that locally.

I doubt it. I seen the video on youtube but I cant tell if its wireless. In fact, heck no PS3 doesnt have this feature. What  the hell is thread about?

you being unaware of the feature does not mean "PS3 doesnt have this feature"

( video of game streaming from ps3 - psp ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mASdFCTNA7I

...all it means is that you were unaaware of it

That video is conveniently dark, cant tell if its wireless or even if its a regular ps3 transmitting it.

um dude remote play is a known feature of ps3 it entails wireless transmission of content wireless between p-s3 and psp more details :

http://uk.playstation.com/psp/support/network/detail/linked240472/item66124/Remote-Play/

why is it so hard to believe that it supported this? what else do you guys think is needed for this other than a wireless connection and enough processing power

No PS3 802.11g  cannot transmit HD video wirelessly. U think there is a way to connect your ps3 to your hdTv wirelessy ( with some wireless adapter for the tv)? Even at 720P? NO.

So since the PS3 is using the 802.11g to transmit lower quality video this means it cannot connect to the internet or use the internet for anything else.

So in a nutshell if u are using this feature:

  • The picture quality will be degraded.
  • U cannot play your games online

IN one sentence

The ps3 cannot stream HD content to vita wirelessly,  stream normally to hdtv, and be connected to the internet all at the same time. Not to the slightest

Which means PS3+ vita cannot do What the WiiU can do. This thread is irrelevant

"The ps3 cannot stream HD content to vita wirelessly"

quick question does the wii u controller output HD? go research that then you'll realise how what you just posted makes no sense

"So in a nutshell"

  • The picture quality will be degraded. ( the same as with the wii u )
  • U cannot play your games online ( this point lost me how? )
"So since the PS3 is using the 802.11g to transmit lower quality video ( LIKE THE WII U ALTHOUGH I DON'T THINK ITS USING 802.11 ) this means it cannot connect to the internet or use the internet for anything else. i asked this above but how? the ps3 has 2 methods of online connectivity wifi and wired

quick question does the wii u controller output HD

There is no official specs. And no, counting pixel from videos don't count lol.  But there is no noticeable degradation or any change of quality at all in the demos shown at E3. On a 6" screen  WIth the HDTV in front of them to compare. And the Wii U  can support more than 1 controller ( at least twice the resolution).

i asked this above but how? the ps3 has 2 methods of online connectivity wifi and wired

Remote play uses the internet functions of the PS3 in order to work. So no matter if its wireless or not you are using the ps3 bandwidth. Else you can use ps3 wireless and wired connections together and get twice the internet speed. U not gonna find some work around by using a wired connection for internet LOL.

im beginning to get the idea that this is pointless "But there is no noticeable degradation or any change of quality at all in the demos shown at E3"

the resolution of the tablet screen confirmed by nintendo ( up till now but may be revised later on ) : 854 x 480 (WVGA)

high def resolution ( bare minimum ) : 1280×720 ( 720p )

whats going on up there? / please explain that to me and it correlates with what you keep posted

"So no matter if its wireless or not you are using the ps3 bandwidth"

its possible to still access psn while playing lair according to what you've posted that shouldn't be possible please explain

look man all i ask if you try to debate me is at least to try to make an effort to educate yourself on whats going...

NIntendo did confirm the WiiU is capitable with more than one controls( your 480 x2= 960). But sorry  cant find anything on Ninty confirming the resolution so some links can be helpful.

its possible to still access psn while playing lair according to what you've posted that shouldn't be possible please explain

Of course, you have to sign in to psn to start remote play dont you? But u cannot use the internet for anything else( or anything else meaningful is what i should of said)  because you are using the PS3's single bandwidth!!!(Like downloading and playing online). Jeez

no... remote play works either via local direct connection or over the internet again you demonstrate beven further that you have no knowledge of how it works so why bother commenting on it?

"But sorry  cant find anything on Ninty confirming the resolution so some links can be helpful."

quote from the article :

"Nintendo has confirmed to the media at E3 that the Wii U controller screen is not HD"

"NIntendo did confirm the WiiU is capitable with more than one controls"

no.... nintendo never confirmed that the wii u has support for more than one controller ( if i'm wrong prove it with a link ) and whats more is that all of the demos they've done so far imply that they didn't really consider supporting multiple controllers... go watch the demos again if you doubt me how many of them show more than one being used?... bare in mind i'm not saying they won't do it later on but that so far they haven't shown or said they will support it
