First off, a "Sensor bar" is 2 UV-LEDs and cost next to nothing ... On top of that, the low quality CMOS sensors (cameras) and microphones that are (likely) to be part of the Wii U controller might add $1 to the cost to manufacture. After all, the Wiimote contained a digital camera and a speaker and it wasn't excessively expensive; and over the past 5 years the cost of CMOS sensors has fallen while the quality has increased.
The only reason we would have to "agree to disagree" is that you simply are unwilling to accept reality. The only unusually expensive component in the Wii U controller is the touch-screen, similar touch screens are already in devices which are under $100, and touch screens are falling in prices at an amazing rate. Nintendo is following the exact same strategy they have been for years and designing a system based on very conventional inexpensive technology.
While I don't expect a Wii U controller to sell for $40, and I believe it will probably sell for $80 to $100 with a game, I highly doubt it would sell for more than $100. I expect that when iSuppli produces a BOM for the Wii U controller (probably 12 months from now) the total cost will be estimated at $20 with the screen accounting for $8 to $10 of that; after assembly, distribution and Nintendo's profit it will probaby be sold to retailers for $40 to $50, and those retailers will sell it for $80 to $100.
