The design of the controller could implement a specific processor optimized for a specific file format at a specific resolution and a specific bit rate that the controller knows it is going to receive. Many little optimizations like that can be made when it is a major focus of development, be it in the console end, the data transmission, the processing at the controller end, or even the response from the controller. Sony could definitely do the same thing but this inter-functionality between the devices isn't a main focus so the question is, would they put in all this extra dev work (time and money) on something they consider an optional feature? If they consider it optional they'd most likely opt to use more general hardware to perform the same tasks. That doesn't mean it won't work as well. They could compensate for these optimizations by using more powerful general hardware, but that would also mean higher costs (again though... we have no idea what the Wii U costs but this is general conjecture on how the tech world works). 2) Developer ease in utilizing the features available Having the Wii U controller be central to the idea that is the Wii U means that Nintendo will (or at least should) put a huge emphasis on getting the most out of the controller's capabilities and the best way to do that is to make it easy for developers to do so through API's and proper support. From current developer statements they seem to be doing a fairly good job of this. To compete on this point, Sony would need to create similar developer tools for the interoperation of the PS3/PSV. Again they very well could do this but would they put in the money and time to? That is Sony's question to answer and none of us know any better than anyone else on what Sony's stance is here. |

thanks and i think we both can agree its not important enough for Sony to focus resources to implement the 2 devices on that level, but also that doesn't mean they won't, but it does seem like they want the 2 products to work together while still maintaining there innovative deferences.
