This is not good for Nintendo. If most of the features can be mimicked then they just lost 51 million possible consumers whom they are aiming at with the WiiU.

I have been saying for a while that the Wii U wasn't going to be sufficient to get PS360 owners to upgrade and this only cements that they aren't offering enough. This and their flawed position on online.

Considering the PS3 will probably have a price drop this year the PS3/V combo will be price competitive especially for the 51 million that already own a PS3.Were I Sony I would put the PS4 on hold unless M$ announces a new console.

Assuming that all multiplatform ownership is impossible and that no-one with a PS3 has any interest in Nintendo games or any exclusive that might go to the Wii U, and equally assuming that Nintendo's Sony-esque proclamations regarding Wii U online will make for an inferior experience

Well they said themselves it's not like they are trying to be best at online so I do expect an inferior online experience.  The lackluster launch of the 3DS and it's online features only point torwards the same portrait.  Let's face it Nintendo doesn't value the online the same way Sony and M$ do.  The online communities are a very large portion of the HD console experience.  I don't expect people to abandon those communities for a small lackluster one when they can play the same games on a system they already own and are already a member of a online community.

Based off what they have shown so far I don't see why anyone would be interested in Nintendo's Wii U games.  The best one they announced hasn't even started  production. For them to be targeting this demographic they don't seem to be doing it all that well.
